Take it out every once and a while

Trim it’s charred loose hairs, don’t let it get dusty

Melt the wax all the way around

Think of all the people you love and dedicate a match to each

Light the wick with a prayer

Make a wish when you blow it out

Touch the spent match to your tongue then grind it into the carpet

Cover the ash with a coaster, don’t tell anyone what you saw

Pass a finger through the flame

Think of old grade school games
